Zhensou sighs, and sits back down on the bed, frowning... He'll leave tonight, he decides. Definitely before those two realize that he's leaving.
Haoqi runs off to Tamand's, and stands outside of his room, waiting impatiently for Manik to get there.

Manik runs after her, sliding their temporary keycard out of their pocket, grabbing her hand and bringing her in after them once they've touched it to the sensor and are cleared. "Matchaaa!"
Matcha looks up in surprise, then smiles. "Manik. Haoqi. What is it?"
Tamand watches the two in silence, his eyes shining brightly, almost sadly.

"Hi Tamand." Haoqi smiles at them shyly. She doesn't get to meet him very often, so she's still a little awkward around him. "We were coming to ask something...could we go with Zhensou back to Spire if he lets us?"

Manik may not be very familiar with human expressions, but they can read Tamand well. They meet his eyes, a silent question. He nods, imperceptibly almost. The corners of their mouth turn down, and instinctively they cross the room and pat his back. He blinks in response, accepting it.
Matcha frowns. "What... both of you??" Her eyebrows rise up. They're needed here! Or at least Manik is. And this is so sudden... "When would this be?"

"That's different! Your family is here, Manik."
"So was most of hers. And most of mine will be at Spire if we go."
"Manik!" Matcha puts her hands on her hips, glaring at them. She isn't really mad, but annoyed, putting on something of a show to be the sensible one.

"But Spire is safe, isn't it?" Manik's brows furrow.
"I did not build... this so carefully for my own... health. It is not safe... so long as Azandra draws... breath."
Matcha and Manik exchange worried glances.

Haoqi looks devastated. She'd been looking forward to it so much. Seeing the world. All of her life, she's wanted to see it. And her opportunity is here, now. She knows better than to go against Tamand's orders, but... "...please?"

"Please." Tamand counters. He looks at Haoqi with pleading eyes. He knows he can't stop her if she truly wants to go. But she's so innocent, and Azandra... she'd kill her. Or do worse.
Matcha steps over to Haoqi, putting an arm around her. "I'm sorry, blossom. Perhaps... someday you will." She pauses. "Maybe we all will."

Slowly, she turns and hugs Matcha. "I. hope so." But. She's twenty-eight, and never left Cover. Let alone Manik and Matcha, who are forty-seven and fifty... And all the other humans, ever since Cover sealed itself off from the rest of the world.
Then she goes and gives Manik a quick hug, and finally, would give Tamand a hug, before stepping back from the three of them. "Okay."

Tamand closes his eyes. He's never before seen just how much these people long to go outside. How much they haven't seen in their lives. It... it touches his heart, what's left of it. He can't prevent them forever. Even if Azandra would be at their doorstep. His mind begins racing with thoughts and plans. "...Soon."
Manik's eyes widen. "Soon? When??"
"We... will see. Matcha?"
Matcha gives Haoqi another hug, before rejoining Tamand. Her heart is suddenly beating fast, excited. This is important. Soon. Manik is grinning as they join Haoqi. "Soon!"

"I'm gonna go for a walk now. Wanna come, Manik?" She looks up at them, she'll probably try and outwalk them though. She wants alone time, to think, but she doesn't want to make Matcha or Tamand worry by doing it right away.
