Jan 2nd, 7000 AGW 3:45 pm Sinis time It's been nearly six hours since PT-1 was sent through the portal. Princess Azandra, her glossy eyes narrowed to slits in anger, awaits the arrival of Baalhazzar, the nominal leader of PT-1. He returned alone. Without her daughters. Without Helfre. She can't wait to hear what he has to say about that. She paces the throne room, covered by glass except in the places where she's thrown rugs over the walls and floor. Waiting.

Vizal has known this was coming...an opportunity to advance. It's pushing him ahead of it, into Azandra's chamber, stepping and stopping just inside the door. It knows no introduction is necessary, and not saying anything is for the best here, she needs to concentrate her anger on him, not on it.

Baalhazzar steps in. He keeps his expression calm and serious. As he's supposed to. He can't let himself slip now. Better to remember the explanation that was prepared during his flight to Pax.
"Your highness," Baal says and bows deep. "I am here to give my report on the mission."

Azandra's eyes flick to Vizal, then focus on Baal, who bows deeply. As usual. He is so damned ingratiating... at least, she thinks, he isn't openly rebellious, like some little winged brats she knows.
"Go on, Baal," she says, facing him, crossing her legs. She doesn't bother using his full name. He's in trouble and he knows it - not worthy of a full name now.

Baal takes a deep breath. This better be convincing. "The mission was a success, Princess Azandra. The facility on the other end of the Portal was inhabited by humans, evidently working on their own version of the Portal. They were quickly taken care of. However, in the process, Viridan and Maywi, daughters of your Highness, were able to escape. Seemingly, it was their intent to save humans." He stops, waiting for response.
Better not swallow now.
Don't let them see you're nervous.

Viridan and Maywi... escaped? Intended to save humans? "What?" Azandra says quietly. Yet dangerously. Her eyes locked on Baal, she steps forward. "What do you mean, escaped? Were you keeping them hostage? If you were unaware, Viridan has her own mission to complete. Is it possible she might have simply taken Maywi with her to aid her in her mission?" Azandra's tone is condescending, deadly. In reality, though, she has doubts about Viridan and Maywi. Maywi is weak... and Viridan is weak in that she often tries to shield her from reality. Had she made a miscalculation in allowing those two to go together on the mission?

Baal knew he'd be questioned. But these questions pose no risk to him. He can answer truthfully, a relief. "I had no knowledge of Viridan's mission, but I doubt this was it. Viridan assisted Maywi to run off with a human. In addition, through her song, she commanded us to let her go, and Helfre to harm herself. She attempted to save lives of numerous humans with her actions."

"What?" Azandra's eyes are thin slits now. "Let her go from where? Where were you keeping her? What was Helfre attempting to do, that led Viridan to believe the only option was to harm her? Why did she attempt to save the humans' lives?" Her fists clenched, legs no longer crossed, she burns with anger, staring Baalhazzar down. "Where did they run off to?"

Baal keeps his concentration. "I do not have the faintest idea why they were so adamant about saving the humans. The strange facility closed its paths around us. I had to interrogate the humans to find the controls... same humans Viridan ordered us to leave alone," Baal takes a break to breathe, and more importantly, collect his thoughts. "Viridan was a serious risk for the mission, and thus... I believe Helfre was attempting to knock her unconscious. Maywi and Viridan... we couldn't find them afterwards. We can only assume they left the facility, and ran off to the woods. Amelia, I believe is the location we arrived to."

Azandra frowns. "You couldn't stop them? You, a proud warrior, and Helfre, a veteran of combat, could not stop two insolent children from disrupting your mission?"
Her eyes flash. Baal would be under her control now.

"I..." Baal swallows. "...expected my team to follow orders. Not turn against them." This is a dangerous territory he's going into. "Princess Azandra... please understand."

"Are you suggesting that it was my fault my daughters rebelled?" Her tone is dangerous. She steps closer to Baal, and would take his chin with one of her hands.

Baal doesn't resist. He keeps his expression as calm as possible. "That was... not I was going for, my lady."

Azandra sighs. "You take me for a fool. Very well..." and she lets go, stepping back. "You shall be a fool." She grins cruelly, showing her sharp canines. "Baalhazzar?" She pauses, drawing out the anticipation, relishing the fear it creates. "Kiss me."
Of course, she'd never kiss him. Not a real kiss. Not with Vizal here, and with Basara in the position she's in. No, what she's thinking is going to be a lot more fun for her, and a lot less so for Baal.

Baalhazzar is shocked. Kiss? Is she... no, this has to be another one of her clever, cruel tricks. Tricks so admirable. Following the orders unreluctantly, he steps closer to Azandra, and leans in for the kiss.

Instead of a kiss, Azandra would bite into Baalhazzar's lip and twist, likely tearing it, before smiling, stepping back. "You'll find it hard to speak... best to keep silent. You won't be issuing any more commands for a while."

Baal (1) can't avoid that al all. He cries out as his lip is torn. As Azandra backs, Baal puts his hand on his lip, which immediately stained by golden blood. "Yes... your Highness," Baal says as he looks into his bloody hand.

"Now..." Azandra says, thinking. "Has the facility been secured? Do you judge that an adequate base of operations for work on Terra?" If so, Azandra thinks, she can send out the team who will destroy the Terranet Towers. Lizeny, of course, to destroy the towers, along with Phoebe to locate them. Not only that, but she can also send a few more Warriors to suppor- no, take over for Baal. She'd prefer to oversee the Amelia mission herself, but no... not yet, not before she's certain it's going well. For now... someone she can trust... she smiles. Basara.
