Innates are reflections of the core of a Mythou. Or perhaps challenges to overcome. Or perhaps heritage. Who knows? Every Mythou has an Innate, which gives them a natural edge in practicing certain types of magic, but can also make it harder to wield others.
On Terra there are a majority of them, who tend to participate in conservation efforts, mostly living in forested areas, though some are urban and prefer to blend in with the humans.
Their innate magics are: anything elemental or found in nature. An Ahran almost never works well with abstract powers such as force fields or aura manipulation. Their element is earth.
Their innate magics are: connection and manipulation. The enhanced senses of Ava lend themselves well to people-focused powers. Anything more inert, like objects, is hard for them to work with. Despite this, their element is metal.
Their innate magics are: abstract and unnatural. Jasmin rarely use straightforward or concrete powers such as simple pyrokinesis. They do best with niche applications and the supernatural. Their element is air.
Their innate magics are: visually based. Sight is the most important sense to a Lette, and if not that, then touch. Anything they can't see (or touch, if blind) is hard for them to work with. Their element is their own body.
Their natural magics are: quick, practical and combat focused. Lorrel specialize in combat - knowing how to win a fight, or avoid it. Any magic that can't be called upon in the heat of battle is probably not one they care to know. Their element is nature.
Their natural magics are: deep and binding. Spells that take a long time, or multiple steps to cast, are stronger for them. Quick or rashly made spells are weaker. Their element is the sea.
Their natural magics are: dark, cloaking, and mysterious. A Marr prefers not to use their powers where anyone can see them - they look intimidating enough without them, after all! (Hearing them is fine, though.) Their element is shadow.
Their natural magics are: flashy and obvious. A Nexan's power draws off other people - the more witnesses, the brighter the burn.

Ahran
The Ahran often wear paint (to camouflage themselves, usually) and jewelry, and typically have more hair than other innates. They also tend to wear natural colors in clothing, but as long as the jewelry is small or subtle it can be any color. They're actually one of the most similar looking to humans.
Ava
The Ava are annoying as fuck, because they can tell if you're lying really easily. They're not even fighters, just... know-it-alls with enhanced senses. They tend toward more abstract and less common powers because, as they say, "nobody else is doing it, but we all need it." This is why a lot of them are healers. They tend to wear white, cream, grey, and black, formal wear such as suits or dresses, with a number of bracelets, anklets, and/or rings. So much metal, it's like it's attached to them. And usually, it is.Their innate magics are: connection and manipulation. The enhanced senses of Ava lend themselves well to people-focused powers. Anything more inert, like objects, is hard for them to work with. Despite this, their element is metal.
Jasmin
The Jasmin have two sets of eyes, one set above the other, and tend to wear long flowy clothing. They're often seen as mysterious and solitary, but are mostly just introverted and prefer the company of books to other people. They're generally very book smart, maybe not so experienced in the real world, and not terribly strong physically.
Their innate magics are: abstract and unnatural. Jasmin rarely use straightforward or concrete powers such as simple pyrokinesis. They do best with niche applications and the supernatural. Their element is air.
Lette
The Lette are devoted, always devoted to some cause or other. Their devotion often reflects itself through the tattoos on their skin, though sometimes it's less obvious than the extensive skin markings. Often serious, always intense, a Lette is someone you don't want to make your enemy.Their innate magics are: visually based. Sight is the most important sense to a Lette, and if not that, then touch. Anything they can't see (or touch, if blind) is hard for them to work with. Their element is their own body.
Lorrel
The Lorrel are wild, and often skilled in battle. They are fighters, whether by magic or by claw - for they do have claws, and sharp teeth too. Often described as cat-like, Lorrel wear practical clothing that allows them to move freely, though they often add their own special flair to their costume, such as a "tail" of ribbon or cloth. Their skin glitters gold in the sun, but at night they can sneak almost silently. They prefer to travel or live in groups, usually with other Lorrel but sometimes with other innates, or even humans.Their natural magics are: quick, practical and combat focused. Lorrel specialize in combat - knowing how to win a fight, or avoid it. Any magic that can't be called upon in the heat of battle is probably not one they care to know. Their element is nature.
Maddr
The Maddr are very empathetic as a rule. They don't necessarily act on it, but if people express emotions - especially strong ones - around them, it affects them. (It can be very annoying to them, actually.) As a consequence, most are either very emotional or barely emotional at all. They either - wear bright and glowing blue or silver to stand out - or wear common clothing in dark colors in an attempt to blend in. Their hands can be used as claw weapons and often are reinforced along with their forearms, similar to a crab shell. Their skin often glitters pale blue or silver, especially at their hands and forearms.Their natural magics are: deep and binding. Spells that take a long time, or multiple steps to cast, are stronger for them. Quick or rashly made spells are weaker. Their element is the sea.
Marr
The Marr walk in shadows, often obscuring their faces and bodies - their innate makes them look a little too much like insects or arachnids, unsettling to most who see them. Which is fine, right? They prefer not to leave the shadows anyway... don't they?Their natural magics are: dark, cloaking, and mysterious. A Marr prefers not to use their powers where anyone can see them - they look intimidating enough without them, after all! (Hearing them is fine, though.) Their element is shadow.
Nexan
The Nexan have horns and wear colorful clothing, makeup and hair accessories. The clothing reflects their tendency to be showy and outgoing, performative - but for good reason, as they're often stronger than other innates and can take more damage.Their natural magics are: flashy and obvious. A Nexan's power draws off other people - the more witnesses, the brighter the burn.
Roux
The Roux often think themselves superior to other innates - because they possess the ability to live in water as well as on land. With gills on their necks and/or sides, as well as other aquatic traits such as finned ears or webbed hands, a Roux rarely wears more clothing than they can get away with, to avoid rubbing against or catching on some sensitive area.
