Backstory:
Mademoiselle Gérarde Noir was born to a wealthy family about two decades before the Great War. For most of her early life, Noir family was in a secret conflict with other local families and groups, fighting in both politics and crime of the control of the city of Falaise. The Noirs managed to take the control of the city, but the head of the family, Gérarde's father Bernard, was killed by a thug hired by his enemies. It was expected for Gérarde's elder brother, Aldéric, to inherit his father's position. However, as the Great War was approaching, the city of Falaise needed an experienced leader, so the siblings' uncle Ferdinand took over until the crisis would be over. The city was fortified, earning it a new name, Bastion.
However, Gérarde was not content giving up the family to her brother, with whom she was enemies with. Although activated as a Mythou, the family didn't allow Aldéric to fight in the war, as it would've dangered his life. The eldest son of Bernard was too valuable for the Noirs, as the citizens of Bastion would be loyal to him. Gérarde was not activated, but through negotiations got and older Mythou to activate her in order to represent and lead the Noir family in the Aqrenii forces. However, as she expected, Aldéric's pride could not accept this and he joined the army against the family's wishes.
Gérarde was a fierce warrior in the war, respected by many. She had hoped her brother would fall on the battlefields, but as he survived every battle and the Solarians seemed to be about to win, her time was running out. In secret, she stabbed Aldéric to death during a fierce battle. She was the only one to ever know the truth, but those who knew the coldblooded nature of the family suspected foul play. She quickly returned to Bastion, predicting the Solarians would have a punishment for the Aqrenii. She convinced her uncle to send her younger siblings to Terra in secret so they could live their lives there and ensure the survival of the Noir family. After the war, she inherited the position of her brother, and was appointed to be the Marquise of Bastion. The one's the suspected that she had something to do with the death of Aldéric were soon silenced, either by threats or death. Gérarde ruled Bastion with an iron fist, becoming a feared and respected leader.
As the Mythou family of Noir had reduced in numbers during the war, and number of possible activations the existing relatives was limited, those humans who were blood-related to Noirs were arranged into a family of their own; the Blackbirds, who received respect beyond what a common human might in Sinis. When the Noirs could spare the aura, they also received activations. With both Mythou and humans supporting her, Gérarde ruled Bastion for hundreds of years. As the political influence of Noir and Blackbird families grew, she was able to take over other lands. By ? AGW, the vast majority of Akra was under her rule. However, this did not last forever. Akra proved to be too large for Gérarde to keep under control. Trying to maintain her rule put a strain on her, and it begun to show in her body, as her appearance became older. Azandra's rise was the last nail to the coffin of the Noir Dynasty. ? AGW Gérarde lost her final fortress, Bastion, to the Princess. As the head of the Noir family was faced with inevitable defeat, she faked her own death to fool her enemies.
Since then, the Noir and Blackbird families have been hiding. From shadows, Gérarde leads a known underground criminal network in Bastion, hoping she might get a chance to restore her rule.
