Name: Lysander "Lys" Morgenlied
Species: Mythou (over 7000 years old)
Pronoun: He/Him
Backstory: An accomplished musician and dancer, the disciple of Taliesin is a former instructor and current headmaster at the conservatory Lux Cantatio in Deep, which he founded shortly after the end of the Great War. Upon returning from the Great War as a healer on the front lines Lys taught music, dance, and healing at a small facility that would later become a full school and library, around which the city of Deep grew. Upon being confronted with Refrax one day in his office in the early 4000s AGW, he used his Song of Hope in order to provide everyone else time enough to escape. Refrax used his own Godmode to counter, and, their magics mixing, snapped back on both of them, creating the mirror-copy of Xander. This drained and injured Lys greatly, and he only survived due to Xander's intervention. His mirrored companion is almost a complete inversion of himself, and while Xander isn't malicious, he is extremely mischievous and Lys finds himself often distracted from the running of the conservatory to track him down and put a stop to his shenanigans. They do not fight, as while Lys frequently finds him vexing they are not enemies. Further, they are equally matched in power and abilities, so all fights end up in a stalemate. Despite their continual bickering they stand up for each other when there is trouble, and given their relationship they can work as a terrifyingly efficient and synchronized team. Lys hates leaving the Lux, as he has a massive administrative workload in order to take care of the day-to-day functions of the facility, and enjoys the protective spells, wards, and defenses that it provides. It is not only a school, it is a sanctuary and neutral ground, and there are few ways more effective to make him furious than to break that peace, especially in his office.
Personality: Welcoming and friendly, and quite fond of warm hugs and intellectual conversations, he is gregarious and eager to instruct and advise, and will defend friends and those unable to fight with a surprising level of determination and ferocity. He can be quite romantic, but almost never initiates the relationship, as he doesn't want to appear pushy or overbearing. An easy way to get him flustered or embarrassed is to flirt openly, as he's still not sure how to react to it. (Something that Xander does with excessive glee, mostly because his reactions are hilarious.) Sometimes appears grumpy and withdrawn, but that is usually after a long day of paperwork and dealing with Xander's unrepentant cheeky nature. At over 7000 years old and having run a school for over half of that lifetime, he has very few f*cks to give, so to speak, and tends to find threats and offers of violence or destruction to be nothing more than a tiresome interruption to the work that he needs to get done. All visitors to his office are met with an offer to have a nice cup of tea, because he is civilized, and nearly anything can be resolved over a fresh pot, and maybe a light snack.
General Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Honest
+ Caring
+ Good sense of humor
+ Intelligent and calculating
- Too trusting
- Tries to believe in others even when they don't deserve it
Abilities: Passive "song" of relaxation and peace, used to calm tensions or help relieve pain when healing particularly bad injuries; taught himself lesser fire summoning and control after establishing the magic portion of the school, and uses it in conjunction with his rapier, though defensively as he prefers to support and defend (or outright run) rather than fight; greater healing, both magical and mundane
Godmode: Song of Hope; provides accelerated magical healing and inspiration to everyone in a 100-foot radius. However, it consumes the rest of his mana (assuming he has enough to use it in the first place) for nearly a full day, and leaves him physically weak, so he tends to save it for when dire situations or when a great number of people are injured at once.
Appearance: 5'10 with a slightly athletic build; waist-length copper red hair with messy bangs that is pulled back into a low ponytail; warm gold eyes; cute fangs; leathery wings that are just large enough for gliding but not powered flight; dresses in neatly-tailored button-down shirts, with a waistcoat and trousers in matching colors; wears gold half-rim glasses that are more for appearance than function; stylish ankle boots in black leather; carries a masterwork rapier with which he is a skilled fencer but poor fighter. On gold-colored chains hanging off of his waist, he carries a hard case with a carved wooden flute, lacquered in white and adorned with brass, with which he is a skilled musician. He is also fond of playing the guitar, but that instrument doesn't travel well and stays at the Lux or his home.
Aura: Gold with red edges
Voice: Bright, warm, somewhat musical, often laughing
Name: Lysander "Xander" Abendlied
Species: Mythou (approximately 3000 years old)
Pronoun: He/Him
Backstory: When Refrax tracked down Lys at his conservatory, their Godmodes used against each other caused an overload and snap of magic that created the mirror-image from Lys called Xander. Amused and intrigued by this turn of events, the newly-created Mythou thanked Refrax for his existence but told him to, in his words, "bugger off" when the other person asked him to join him in the quest to destroy the world. When questioned why, he replied with, "so you destroy the world, what then? There's nothing, and that's boring. I'll have none of that, thank you." He then defended Lys and the conservatory from Refrax's retaliatory attack, though it was less out of good will and more the joy of doing something just to spite the other person. After Refrax was driven off, he dragged Lys back to his (technically their) home, as it just wouldn't be any fun if his original died so soon and in such an undignified manner. However, anyone who observes his interactions with Lys will notice that while he delights in teasing and frustrating his "twin," there is a level of fondness for him, though it is impossible to determine whether this is friendly, brotherly, or, as he claims with a sassy grin, romantic. Lys returns it with the affection of a protective older brother, though he'd never admit it, especially to Xander, who is already insufferable enough. Xander is given to doing whatever he pleases, as he has no particular responsibilities, and most of his "fun" usually involves getting a rise out of Lys in some way. He's never subtle about it at all, because he wants Lys to know exactly what he's doing, as some things are just best with an audience. He is one of the few people who can pry Lys from the conservatory, usually because he's doing something that Lys feels needs to be stopped. However, it is possible that while Lys claims it is a bother to chase down and bring him back like that, he does enjoy Xander's attempts to get him out and about, though he will deny it fervently if asked.
Personality: He is out to do whatever amuses him and gains him power (of any kind) and physical pleasure, and delights in taunting his enemies into making mistakes that he can exploit. He derives a particular amount of pleasure from vexing and annoying his mirror-twin Lys, who puts up with it with near-endless reserves of patience and understanding. A walking ball of hormones, he will flirt with and hit on anyone he finds attractive (male, female, or whatever, and even Lys, though one is never sure whether he is serious or thinks it's too funny not to), but people already in a relationship are off-limits, as well as a few select people. Pleasure is fine and all, but drama? Ugh, that's no fun at all. Despite his carefree and self-indulgent attitude, he is known to be supportive and rather sweet when necessary, but he tries to make it clear that it's because it amuses him, that's all.
General Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Fast striker in combat
+ Clever
+ Exact copy of Lys since the early 4000s AGW, and therefore has all of his memories and skills up to then
- Flirts with anyone he finds attractive, can get him in (even more) trouble if he's not careful
- Despite his easygoing attitude is easy to anger, and is rash and careless when mad
- Often pushes his luck too far and has to get Lys to bail him out of trouble
Abilities: Passive "song" of inspiration, can also be used to goad or enrage enemies, often used to bring about an energetic, positive mood; knows lesser fire summoning and manipulation as he was basically cloned from Lys, and likewise uses it in conjunction with his rapier, but unlike Lys he actually can use both to fight (though not terribly well); enjoys fights of skill and talent; knows some direct-damage spells to cause harm and injury but nothing fatal, usually used as a distraction or to harry enemies
Godmode: Song of Despair; causes damage and fear in those within a 100-foot radius. Also like Lys, this will burn the last of his mana for a day and render him nearly unable to even stand, so it is usually used as a last resort when he is getting ready to run or has the upper hand on a foe.
Appearance: Almost exactly the same as Lys, though he wears his hair long with a single slim braid on the left side of his face; has fangs as well, but sharp and dangerous-looking; likewise, he prefers the same waistcoat-and-trousers combo, though he leaves the waistcoat unbuttoned and the shirt untucked and half-undone, and always manages to make it look slept-in; small, black, round-rimmed sunglasses; carries a matching rapier, but on his other side, as he is left-handed to Lys's right-handedness. Again similar to Lys, he carries a carved wooden flute in a case, though this one is lacquered in black with brass, and is a larger, lower-octave instrument to Lys's lighter, brighter flute. He is also equally skilled, and togher they can produce beautiful, haunting melodies.
Aura: Red with gold edes
Voice: Sassy, flirty, taunting, usually always amused

Together they run the Lux Cantatio, but on the side (and known only to a few), they are information brokers, trading in secrets and knowledge from all over Sinis as heads of the information network known as Yggdrasil. They are fair but firm, and are adamant about protecting not only the source of their information, but those to whom it is traded and sold. It is unknown just how far and wide their net of communication and information spreads, nor just how much they know, and they are notoriously tight-lipped about it. This would put most people in a precarious situation of being caught up in politics, but remarkably, they have chosen to remain staunchly neutral in all respects, as while they know much, they do not act on or use what they know to their advantage. Rather, they are draconic in that they perch atop their hoard of knowledge, parting only with the most precious of gems at a dear price to those who would buy. Threats against them are met with surprisingly fast and harsh penalties from unexpected sources, as they are a valuable resource to many, and those people would see this asset protected. Though they appear to constantly bicker and argue, it is also unclear how much of this is genuine and how much is a front, and exactly what the nature of their relationship is.
