"Not forever..." And Eitha kisses her gently on the forehead, fading away, letting Azandra continue her dreams as normal...

Location: Coffee Shop, Pax, Sinis Tuesday, Jan 7, 7000 AGW 11:40 am Sinis time Azandra walks into the coffee shop which Abbyline had visited the day before, smiling kindly at the person behind the counter. Her clothing is simple, as usual, but distinctive. She's made no attempt at hiding herself. There's no need.

With trepidation that he is barely able to hide, the man behind the counter smiles and bows. "Princess Azandra, you honor my humble shop. What can I get for you? It will be on the house."

Azandra smiles, bobbing her head, and strides up to the counter. "A vanilla coffee... and your name."

The particular coffee request in conjunction with the strange events the other day send a quick jolt of fear through him as he mentally pieces together the possible connections, but dismisses it and complies with her request. Placing the cup of vanilla coffee on the saucer, he bows again. "Your vanilla coffee, my lady. I am Darren, and I hope that this beverage pleases you."

She accepts it, without spilling it on him. "It pleases me very much, Darren. Only one thing might please me more - knowledge of the whereabouts of the girl who visited your establishment yesterday. You know which one."

Remarkably, he seems to show relief at this. "Oh! I am so dreadfully sorry, Princess, I did not realize that she was under your charge. She came seeking a Raven but collapsed from exhaustion, who said that she was taking her to seek medical attention." He thinks about this and frowns in confusion. "She also said that she was going to take a boat to the mainland as well. I have not seen either of them since then, so they both must have already departed, but why would she leave so suddenly? There is nothing on the continent that we cannot treat here." He is now fearful again, but apparently for not the "right" reasons. "Is she in danger? I know that Yggdrasil is not given to kidnapping or other shady matters, so for a Raven to hide her means peril on her part. Oh! Once again you have my deepest apologies, I have rambled on needlessly."

"Danger?" Azandra sighs, lying smoothly. "I have heard that some would seek my downfall. Perhaps they did mean to do it through her... ah, she shouldn't have run away like she did. At least Yggdrasil has her, and not some... not an enemy." She glances around. How many other people are around? Secondarily, what is her next move? She knows Abbyline did not collapse from exhaustion. She knows why Yggdrasil took her, and of course they'd seek to send her back to Deep. If they're already on their way back, then there's nothing Azandra can do to stop them, short of piracy...
But surely Lys wouldn't leave Pax without a Raven. Even Azandra knows better than to leave a territory completely unprotected. "I ought to talk with the Raven-" ah, and he had said a Raven. Not the Raven. So there's that too, such as it is- "of Pax. If there is one still available." Her face is serious, but with no hint of the storm she plans to unleash. Only slight concern.

He nods, grateful for the moment that he is not the target (or in the path) of her wrath. "But of course, I shall relay your... Oh, oh no. Now that I think of it, no one has inquired since that day, and it just now occurs to me that I've not seen either of them since then, and they always make themselves known when they come in. This is...unprecedented. There's never been a time without at least one present. It appears that they have flown the coop!" He devolves into slightly hysterical laughter, realizing that by not delivering her the information she desires or redirecting her focus to another, that he is directly in her sights, and she is not known to be kind when thwarted, even indirectly.

Azandra glares at him, stepping forward, her height magnifying her intimidating presence. Then the slightest bit of a smile interrupts her anger, and becomes a fanged, predatory grin. She will show Lys what happens when her daughter is removed from her. She'll show them all. She locks eyes with Darren, and her eyes flash, initiating her control. "That's unfortunate. Very unfortunate. I suppose you're just going to have to relay my sentiments when they return!" The grin widens in anticipation. "Show them what happens to those who take my daughter from me."
Her commands are swift and deadly.

Darren blinks, surprised, but relieved that she had not lashed out at him in any form. "I shall obey, Princess," he replies, feeling a strange itch in his mind. He feels the need to do something, something quite strange, and terribly awful, but it's his thoughts, so there's nothing wrong with them, right? Besides, for some reason he can't ignore these thoughts. It's a strange compulsion. This voice in his mind, it doesn't sound quite like his own, but who else could it belong to?
He leaves the coffeehouse silently, and nobody notices his departure. He doesn't return.
Some hours later, the city is abuzz with a strange, horrible murder. The person who worked at the coffeehouse was found near the docks, and those who worked there all stated that they'd heard no screaming or sounds of conflict. It was a terrible mess, though, and equally perplexing, as he had been found with a heavily-stained knife nearby, holding a black feather in one hand, and a message on the ground written in his own blood: "I will have what is mine." Law enforcement is baffled by this, as he had no known enemies, and Pax is a relatively safe town.
Someone in nondescript brown clothes hears of this as they get off of a boat later that night and immediately hurries to the new safehouse to inform Yggdrasil. Azandra has declared war upon the network, and the first blood has been spilled...

Before the news has even hit the streets, Azandra is on the move again. Stopping in the mirror castle briefly to repack her bags, she then heads for the docks. She knows where she must head next, and that she must reach it before anyone can stop her. She will not make the mistake of leaving the Lux again.

Location: Docks, Pax, Sinis Tuesday, Jan 7, 7000 AGW 12:00 pm Sinis time Bianca is completely fed up with the Paxian system of government. It's one thing that she's a human. It took her literal hours to convince those in importance that yes, she was the (former) wife of Lias, yes, she's the well-known archaeologist, and yes, she has information that Azandra needs to know. And this after taking far too damn long to get to Pax in the first place, thanks to rough seas and high winds in precisely the wrong direction (Sunside). Then, once she finally convinces them, they discover that the Princess has left. She's quite literally about to turn and walk away, figuring Azandra must be somewhere else, when she hears the familiar, smooth Akran accent, and looks up to see the Princess's cold scowl. "Get out of my way, human," she hisses. She's definitely angry, and Bianca can't blame her. Can't blame her at all. But she has to get the message through, so she says quietly, "I have an important message for you, Princess Azandra." "Do you?" The Princess tosses her head. "We'll see about that." And with that, she locks eyes with Bianca - to her surprise, the human stares levelly back - and initiates her control. She questions Bianca thoroughly on the veracity of her statements, packing her things and walking to the docks as she does so, but as far as she knows, they're all true. Reylan, a guard in Deep, visited Seashell to inform Mayor Alia of Her Warriors' movements toward the portal - her eyes thin at this. How dare he! - and ask if she would be willing to support a potential revolutionary, Azandra's newest disciple, a student at the Lux Cantatio, Abbyline. Alia had, of course, asked Bianca to go to Pax quickly and inform Azandra of this. Azandra is overwhelmed with rage. The little traitor. Her father too! She nearly seizes Bianca right then and there, but manages to hold herself together. For now. The human may yet be useful. Still seeing red, she nevertheless manages to charter a boat for the two of them. For Deep itself, bypassing the ports of Delta and Woodport. She will show no mercy. But once they get underway, she realizes the impending storm may yet delay her wrath.
